Those familiar with the original JCritty.com may already know that I’m a big time New Kids on the Block fan. It kind of happened by accident when a bunch of us got tickets to the Vancouver show last year…and it turned out to be AMAZING FUN TIMES. After that I couldn’t stop checking nkotb.com, and youtube, and so much more. And yeah, that bootleg “Hangin’ Tough” dvd from Korea is on my shelf…in “dolbee ditital” magnificence.

BurritoFriday.com associates J-Spot, D-Lanks, and I  trekked out to Kelowna yesterday to catch them again, and managed to get a room in the same hotel as the New Kids. I thought there may be a chance meeting, where I end up looking really really cool, thus winning their affections for life.

Turns out nkotb fans are a determined bunch, and go to such lengths as hanging out in the lobby for 5 hours, or paying hundreds of dollars to do meet and greet, or following them around on multiple tour dates (Grateful Dead style)! I know, right? But good for them, because they probably got what they wanted after all that hard work, and I ended up hammered outside a gas station after a failed attempt at finding pizza.

When you work in an office environment, you eventually settle in to a comfort zone with the people around you. Unspoken ground rules are established, personality types are mutually respected, and interaction comes natural. If something interrupts the work environment routine, the balance of the ecosystem is thrown off and it’s weird.

I was a big fan of the Anne Rice vampires in high school, so I haven’t jumped on the “I only date vampires” Twilight bandwagon. However, UnoMas finished all of the books in less than a week, and has informed me today that her copy of Twilight is on pre-order. When Robert Pattinson returns to Vancouver for filming you can bet her radar will be ready, and I’ll be right beside her for support.
